Tech Days 2013

This year’s Tech Days came to a successful finish yesterday and like every year, it was full of good, current info on the latest Microsoft products and a lot of knowledge was shared. Both keynotes covered the basic themes of the actual sessions and built some curiosity and hype about the upcoming sessions. On Tuesday morning Tim O’Brien talked about Windows 8 with Jukka Wallasvaara giving a technical spin with demos. On Wednesday morning Keenan Newton gave the IT Pro keynote on sharepoint.

Meet the Alumni!

The Microsoft Student Partners Program has been going on in Finland for a few years now and we are just now starting to see more and more graduated MSP’s doing great things in their young careers. These guys and girls are known as the MSP Alumni.

Explaining the Explain

Last weekend I did my first real application for windows 8. I do not have any previous experience from other platforms at all. I have done some school projects for Windows Phone 7.5, but they have been in “hello world” –level. Month ago I applied to be a Microsoft Student Partner, and I got accepted, but now I had to publish a app in Windows Store. Oh my god, I don’t have any real previous experience from any platform, I don’t have any idea for app and I really haven’t done anything like this before.

Like clockwork every year, Microsoft invites students around the world to innovate, compete and get a ridiculous amount of prizes as reward for awesome ideas and software. Now even more so as the prizes, categories and competition all scale way up!
